Daisy Duke

Daisy Duke a seven year old Shetland Pony,  is the ranch mascot.  She is also used in lessons for  children who are intermediate  riders. Daisy was a big hit as she walked in  the Holiday parade in San Marcos. Daisy made her gymkhana showing début 2005/2006 on the lead line, earning her rider a huge buckle for V-Spurs Reserve High Point Champion of the year.

SUGAR  1976-8-25-06 We miss you!

Sugar is a 13.3 hand Ponies of America breed. She was 30 years young. A favorite among our riders for her sweet disposition and patience. Sugar was one of the six Rockin' L & D Ranch horses that participated in the San Marcos Holiday parade. Our gymkhana club, Vallecitos Spurs, won the Best Spirit for youth and animals trophy.

Sugar is at Orange Glen High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) educational day. Rockin' L & D Ranch student, Rebecca, explains to elementary school kids how to take care of a horse. Sugar enjoyed the attention and the bucket of carrots for her hard work of looking pretty.

Shurroco

Drew on Shurroco, a buttermilk buckskin Quarter pony, has won countless awards from most improved to the top three at the big CGA Spring Classic show. Also several gymkhana belt buckles. Every student that has ridden Shurroco in either gymkhana, fun day shows or rail has placed in the top three of the class. This 22 year old Quarter pony is the alpha of the herd and likes to work. He is Rockin' L & D Ranch's most versatile lesson horse as he does it all from English, Western, gymkhana, trail, cows, and can jump four feet.

Nikia

Nikia is a liver chestnut American Quarter horse.  This 23 year old mare has the spirit of a 4 year old!  She is for advanced riders. Barrel racing. cutting cattle and trail is her love. On the ground her manners are suburb, a six year old could lead and groom her and she wouldn't move a muscle. Nikia made her gymkhana showing debut 2005/2006 earning a fourth place over all for the year despite missing three shows.

Popeye

Popeye is a cute 14 hand Arabian gelding. He's eleven years old and likes to play in the big rain bird sprinklers. Of course he rolls in the dirt  after soaking his coat and looks like a mud monster.

He is ridden both  English, Western,  gymkhana and trail.  He placed forth overall for 2005/2006 V-Spurs year end awards.
