Lessons
Lessons
are for one hour. Lesson plans vary depending on
the horse and rider team and their goals.
All riders will learn the basics of good horsemanship, including
grooming and tacking-up with safety emphasized. All lessons will include
proper warm-up, cool-down and depending on the individual's ability:
pattern work, arena work, trail work and lunging. Recommend
purchasing the Certified Horsemanship Association Composite (Level 1-4)
book as you written and many of your riding test are from the CHA book's
pages. Other handouts,
magazines and suggested reading material will be given to you. We may video tape certain sessions
for more enhanced learning. If riding your
own horse an evaluation of your horse's learning ability in conjunction
with the rider’s goals will be presented verbally or written. Riders who are riding my horses will receive a
progress report, written and/or verbal, on their horsemanship skills.
We also offer unmounted lessons if environmental conditions are unsafe
to ride.
Semi-private
lessons are for two-six riders. Clinic and group rates depend on the
subject matter and length of the lesson. Example programs: General
horsemanship for Scout’s, Barrel racing for beginners,
safety on the trail, etc. Please
call for pricing.
